As the intrigues surrounding the inauguration of the 10th National Assembly leadership continue, Hon Yusuf Gagdi has stated that President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu is unaware of the All Progressives Congress, APC, endorsement of some lawmakers.

Gagdi, the Plateau State House of Representatives member representing the Pankshin/Kanam/Kanke federal constituency, revealed this to journalists on Tuesday.

He reacted to the APC’s endorsement of Abbas Tajudeen and Benjamin Kalu as Green Chamber Speaker and Deputy Speaker, respectively.

Tajudeen and Kalu were appointed Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives by the APC on May 8.

However, Gagdi and other aspirants, now known as the G7 seeking the positions, have protested APC’s choice.

“The principal of our president-elect (Bola Ahmed Tinubu), whom I so much respect, and I don’t believe that what is happening today the president-elect is aware of, or that it is his idea,” he said. That is why we continue to challenge the party.”

Hon. Muktar Betara, deputy speaker Hon. Ahmed Wase, House leader Alhassan Ado-Doguwa, Sada Soli, Aminu Jaji, Miriam Onuoha, and Gagdi are members of the G7 group.

After the President-elect’s inauguration on May 29, 2023, the House of Representatives and Senate leadership would be inaugurated in June.
