A group operating under the aegis of the Association of Nigerian Professionals in the UK has urged political actors throughout the nation to assist Godswill Akpabio, the senator-elect for Akwa North-West, in his bid for the Senate Presidency ahead of the June 10th Assembly’s inauguration.

The group praised the selection of Tajudeen Abass as the party’s nominee for Speaker of the House of Representatives, asserting that he possesses the qualifications necessary to carry out his obligations in that position.
This was said in a statement provided to journalists and signed by the organization’s organizer, Engr. Innocent Udoidiong, and secretary, Mr. Kingsley Omolu, following an emergency meeting of the group called to discuss, among other things, concerns impacting Nigerians living in the UK.
Other executive members of the organisation, including Dr. Christopher Udushirinwa, Dr. Obafemi Oyewole, Mr. John Eze, Mr. Clement Bamgbose, Mr. Anthony Kelechi, and Babatunde Olatunde, were present at the meeting, which took place in Chelmsford, Essex, UK.
Waheed Adeyemi, Mr. Ediomi Jumbo, Mr. Henry Valentine, Mr. Taiwo Oladapo, and Mr. Mebude Hammed are some of the others.
The group praised the APC for choosing to implement a fair zoning plan before appointing the leadership of the 10th National Assembly, emphasizing that this action will promote fairness, justice, and peace.
“Nigeria, a country with many development issues, such as poverty, illiteracy, and unemployment, needs experienced and imaginative leaders who tactfully strategize toward fixing some of the challenges,” the statement said. When Akpabio led Akwa Ibom State for two terms as governor, he left an enduring impression. His records are impeccable and unmatched. He implemented initiatives as the Niger Delta Minister that helped restructure the Niger Delta Development Commission and restore some sanity to the organization. The agency has completed all projects.
“The selection of Tajudeen Abass has what it takes to carry out his obligations in that position efficiently. We thus appeal to all Nigerian political actors to support their aspiration.
The group also applauded the Federal Government for acting quickly to arrange for the evacuation of Nigerian students from the conflict-torn Sudan.
