According to a report by the News Agency of Nigeria, three people were confirmed deceased after a Toyota Sienna automobile crashed into a river on Saturday along the Sagamu-Benin motorway.

Public education representative for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Ogun, Florence Okpe, confirmed the occurrence.
Okpe identified the victims as three adult males who died, while one other person was hurt.

She stated:

“The accident happened about 11:55 a.m., and it’s believed that excessive speed and a loss of control caused the car to tumble into the river.

“The APP 830 HX-branded vehicle was travelling from Benin to Lagos.”

The injured guy was reportedly transferred to Hope Clinic J4 in the state’s Ijebu-East local government area, according to an FRSC official.

She stated that the deceased’s bodies had been placed in the mortuary of the State General Hospital in Ijebu-Ode.

Anthony Uga, the state sector commander of the FRSC, was described by Okpe as adding that disobeying the speed limit is the main factor contributing to traffic accidents, particularly among drivers of commercial vehicles.

“In this instance, however, the FRSC sector commander valued the contributions made by neighbourhood divers to the rescue mission.

We also feel sorry for the victims’ families, and we encourage them to get in touch with the FRSC Ogbere station if they want to learn more about the disaster, she continued.
