MAKURDI – To give herdsmen in the state time to leave, Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom has put on hold the State Livestock Guards’ operations for a two-week period.
The Governor made the choice in response to a meeting of the state’s Emergency Security Council that was held on Tuesday to discuss ways to stop the recent uptick in the killing of peasant farmers by herdsmen.
