Sen. Danjuma Goje, who represents Gombe Central in the National Assembly, was expelled from the All Progressives Congress (APC) by the Kashere Ward of the Akko local government area of Gombe State on Tuesday due to alleged anti-party activities.

According to a report, the party in the Kashere ward recently established a panel to investigate the Senator and former governor of the State’s alleged anti-party activities during the recently concluded 2023 elections.

Speaking to reporters in Kashere, Tanimu Abdullahi, the APC Ward Chairman, explained that the party had unanimously decided to expel Goje after determining that he had engaged in anti-party activities, such as missing the Gombe State APC campaign rally presided over by Senator Abdullahi Adamu, the national chairman of the party, and the presidential campaign rally in the State, which was attended by the president-elect and vice president-elect.

In his Central senatorial zone, Akko federal constituency, State constituency, and ward units, Abdullahi said the senator was also accused of boycotting all party campaign rallies.

The allegations against Goje of socialising with opposition parties and their candidates with the aim of undermining the success of the APC in Gombe State and Nigeria in general were also discussed by the committee.

“Open support to opposition party candidates by hosting the NNPP gubernatorial candidate and the PDP Akko Federal House of Representatives candidate in his residence and offered support against the interest of his party, the APC, among many other instances,” he continued.

Senator Goje also engaged in “making pronouncements that undermined the APC administration in the state and sponsoring campaign of calumny with the intention of inciting the public against the APC administration in the state,” according to Abdullahi, who went on to list additional offences committed by the senator.
