Tems and Burna Boy, two Nigerian musicians who have won Grammy Awards, were among the hand-picked celebrities who were invited to attend the star-studded gathering of the fashion world that took place at the 2023 Met Gala.
The Met Gala is a fundraising event that takes place each year for the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. It is traditionally held on the first Monday of May each year.
The theme for this year’s Costume Institute exhibition, which was held in honor of the life and work of the late fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, encouraged guests to dress in accordance with the theme of the exhibition.
Kim Kardashian, Rihanna, Ice Spice, Serena Williams, Jennifer Lopez, Gabrielle Union, Dwayne Wade, Keke Palmer, and Billie Eilish were among the global megastars who were present at the event.

At the Met Gala, celebrities of African descent including Burna Boy, Stormzy, and Skepta all wore blue checkered outfits that were strikingly similar to one another.
Tems wore a dress designed by Robert Wun that had a distinctive headpiece and a black corset top that was embellished with feathers. Tems was the star of the show.
Tems wore a dress that was black and white, whereas Burna Boy sported a suit that was blue and black with Burberry branding.
