Lamidi Apapa, the Labour Party (LP) factional leader, has appeared before the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal once more.

According to reports, recent photographs show him seated comfortably and attentively listening to the ongoing proceedings in the courtroom.

Apapa chose to sit in the back of the courtroom rather than in the designated area for Labour Party representatives.

In addition, the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, arrived at the courthouse with a large group of supporters.

In a previous statement, Apapa stated his intention to appear before the Tribunal on Friday, May 19 (today) during an appearance on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily program.

When asked about his plans after being rejected on Wednesday, he stated confidently, “I intend to go.” Maybe I’ll be recognized by the next hearing.”

Apapa also claimed that his presence at the Tribunal on Wednesday was to assert his authority as the party’s acting National Chairman.

Remember that the leadership dispute erupted after a court order barred the incumbent National Chairman, Julius Abure, and other party executives from assuming leadership roles. While Apapa asserts his rightful position as chairman, a sizable portion of the party’s membership does not recognize his authority.

On Wednesday, Apapa was booed and subsequently expelled from the Tribunal, intensifying the battle for leadership.
