Some of the Nigerian players who competed in the top five European leagues, including the Premier League, Serie A, La Liga, and Ligue 1, have been relegated to the second tier.

Unfortunately, the majority of worldwide celebrities play for Nigeria’s Super Eagles, a national team that has recently struggled to live up to its moniker and fly like the bird after which it is called.

Eight names that have been demoted are listed below.

Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho of Leicester played major roles in the club’s eighth-place finish in the 2021–2022 season, but they were unable to save the squad from being relegated this year.
Iheanacho has made 28 appearances this season, 17 of which have been as a substitute, and has a pitiful five goals and five assists.

Iwobi, Iheanacho, and Ndidi face relegation in the English Premier League. Joe Aribo and Paul Onuachu of Southampton also lost their jobs after failing to score or assist in 11 games.

Cremonese forward Cyriel Dessers, who contributed two assists and six goals in 26 games, was also demoted from Serie A.

John Donald of Elche CF and Chidera Ejuke of Hertha BSC, who combined for zero goals and three assists in 20 league contests, were also demoted this year.
