President Bola Tinubu will meet with governors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) today.

The meeting, which is expected to take place at the State House, will be led by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, who was recently elected Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum.

This is President Tinubu’s first official meeting with APC governors since his inauguration earlier this week.

Nine governors are newly elected, while the remaining 11 are returning to their posts.

According to a reliable source familiar with the planned meeting, the agenda would include topics such as the appointment of National Assembly leadership, ministerial appointments, and the overall direction of the government.

Many governors, who have already identified preferred candidates from their respective states, are expected to take advantage of this opportunity to present their choices to the president.

President Tinubu has promised to include all stakeholders in the formation of his government.

Furthermore, discussions are expected to focus on the current state of affairs following the elimination of the fuel subsidy.

Given that petrol prices have risen to as high as N750 per litre across the country, the president is expected to share his administration’s strategies for mitigating the effects of the subsidy removal.
