The NFF Disciplinary Committee made the following decisions in the disciplinary case between Smart City FC and Gateway United FC regarding their match on April 30th, 2023:
Zenith Bank Women’s Basketball League: First Bank to Compete Against IGP Queens in Atlantic Conference
Two high-flying teams from the ongoing preliminaries of the Zenith Bank-sponsored National Women Basketball League – organized by the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), First Bank of Lagos, and IGP Queens of Lagos – will clash today at Benin’s Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium.
The two teams are dominating the ongoing competition, which will send eight of Benin’s 16 teams to the National Women’s Basketball League.
Only yesterday, First Bank defeated Dolphins 45-30, and IGP Queens defeated First Deep Water 52-34.
First Bank defeated First Deep Water 47-19 on matchday one, and IGP defeated Dolphin 45-24 on matchday two.
The First Bank team also defeated Ekiti Angels 59-19 on Saturday night, moving them closer to becoming the first team to book a ticket to the Zenith Bank National Women Basketball League finals.

First Bank and the IGP Queens have three wins each so far and are aiming for a fourth. As a result, today’s meeting is a major test and a high risk for both parties.
The Bini Queens, on the other hand, have struggled against the big teams, suffering defeats to the Mountain of Fire Basketball Team and the Sunshine Angels of Akure.
As the Atlantic Conference gains traction, the Savanna Conference is set to begin on Wednesday, June 7 in Zaria.
Musa Kida, President of the NBBF, has assured that the current format of prelims will bring out the best in all women’s basketball teams across the country.
“Everyone wants to play in the Women League finals, which are sponsored by Zenith Bank, but in order to do so, the team must be in the first 16 brackets from the two Conferences,” Kida said. We are excited about this, and I believe that as time goes on, it will be better for our female players and teams. There’s so much at stake.”
