Adebayo Adelabu, the minister of power, has urged Nigerians to quit abusing the people who provide energy.
Instead, he urged the populace to back them.
When he visited the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, on Friday, he made this appeal.
According to Adelabu, his goal for the ministry is to make the most of the Nigerian Electricity Act of 2023, which created new opportunities for the delivery of electricity and promoted cooperation between the federal government, states, and local governments.
The minister promised to build on the groundwork set by his predecessors and create strong collaborations between the public and private sectors while leading the ministry.
“In Nigeria, power generation has been debundled according to the power Act of 2023. I shall thus implore all state governors to hasten the adoption of their states’ electrical legislation.
Additionally, I want to assure you that the Ikere Gorge dam produces 20 KVA of hydroelectricity. The Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority built the Ikere Gorge Dam, one of the largest dams, to access the water resources of the Ogun River basin, he continued.
Earlier, Niyi Ajewole, President-General of the CCII, asked the minister to work with Governor Seyi Makinde to advance Ibadanland specifically and the state generally.
