In the early hours of Saturday morning, kidnappers armed to the teeth have stormed the El-Rufai state that is located in the Bwari district of Abuja.
Baba Bego, who serves as Chairman of the Kuchiko Resettlement Development Area (KRDA), has confirmed the occurrence to the media.
According to him, the kidnappers came at the scene and began firing erratically into the air before kidnapping a local person.
The victim, Chinedu, was taken from his residence that was located on the estate and taken somewhere.
After climbing over the fence and gaining access to the victim’s compound, the kidnappers, according to the victim’s wife, forcibly removed her husband and took him away.
“They shot randomly in the air to scare our family members and neighbours before taking my husband away,” the woman added. “Before taking my husband away, they also took our family members.”
At the time that we were filing this report, they had not yet made contact with the family.
Bego stated that the number of kidnappings that have taken place in the region over the past several months has increased to five as a result of the most recent occurrence that took place there.
Bego stated that at this point “we live in fear because nobody knows who the next victim would be.”
In order to prevent any additional events from occurring, he demanded that security officers be sent to the area.
