The Commissioner for Information and Culture, Mannir Mu’azu Haidara, stated on Saturday that Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal would not negotiate with bandits but would instead back security forces in their efforts to eradicate banditry and other types of criminality.

Additionally, he said that the state had long since fallen behind due to poor governance.

He claims that the governor has begun carrying out a plan that will help the state end years of banditry and complete disregard for governance.

He told reporters in Lagos that Governor Lawal would prioritise reestablishing communities that had been destroyed by years of insecurity and would take part in urban and rural development initiatives that would hasten rehabilitation. The Commissioner stated that Governor Lawal would stick to his guns and refuse to negotiate with bandits in favour of aiding all security organisations in the fight against crime.

“Governor Lawal has vowed to never negotiate with bandits and to devote all of his efforts to ensuring that the residents of Zamfara state live in peace.

“Making Zamfara state secure and free from years of insecurity,” Haidara stated, “is the top priority of Governor Dauda Lawal.”

Speaking on governance, the Commissioner claimed that the current government, led by Governor Lawal, is at the moment bringing sanity back to the country.

He pointed out that the governor focused on efforts to settle all other worker entitlements while first making sure that the three months’ worth of unpaid wages left by the previous government were resolved.

He stated that further initiatives would be undertaken in both urban and rural areas. “Right now, some projects of urban development have started and are ongoing.”

In regards to education, Haidara made note of the plan that has been put in place to guarantee that the standard of instruction is raised at all levels and the learning environment is enhanced to a respectable level.

“Zamfara had suffered from poor leadership for many years. The challenging task of building a brand-new Zamfara that would be focused on progress and development has now been taken on by Governor Dauda Lawal. It is a large undertaking that will call for several resources.

But the Commissioner added, “Governor Dauda Lawal has the will and the overwhelming backing of the people of Zamfara state to make this happen.

Haidara also urged the media and all interested parties to back Lawal’s administration, which he claimed was working to save Zamfara State and its inhabitants.
