According to the State Security Services, or SSS, a scheme to organise violent rallies to attack President Bola Tinubu’s administration and security forces has been discovered.

This was revealed by the secret police in a Monday X handle post that was made and signed by SSS spokesman Peter Afunanya.

Student leaders, young people, ethnic-based organisations, and disaffected groups are reportedly being organised for the protests, according to the statement.
The “ring leaders of the plot,” according to Mr. Afunanya, have been identified and are being watched, he said.

The post, “DSS Discovers Plot To State Violent Protests In The Country,” states: “The Department of State Services (DSS) hereby informs the public that it has uncovered plans by some elements in some parts of the country to stage violent protests in order to discredit the Federal Government and security agencies over various socio-economic matters.

According to intelligence assessments, some politicians are among the plotters and are feverishly trying to rally unwitting student leaders, ethnic-based organisations, young people, and disaffected groups for the intended action. To prevent the plot’s ringleaders from throwing the nation into turmoil, the service has identified them and has been continuously monitoring the area around them.

“In light of this situation, university vice chancellors and heads of tertiary institutions are recommended to counsel their students from participating in acts that could disrupt public peace.

Additionally, parents and guardians are urged to caution their children and wards to resist the temptation to engage in unfriendly behaviours or conducts that violate the law and order.

“While the DSS is cognizant of the government’s efforts and determination to address some of the difficulties facing the nation, it warns anyone desirous of undermining national security to retrace their ways.

“This is more so that it will not hesitate to take legal action against individuals and groups responsible for the sneaky plans,”
