Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been proclaimed the victor of the Kogi Central Senatorial election that took place on February 25, 2023 by the electoral petition tribunal located in Lokoja, Kogi State.
On Wednesday, June 8, 2023, Justice K.A. Orjiakoin, the tribunal’s chair, reportedly issued the decision.
According to him, Abubakar Sadiku-Ohere of the All Progressives Congress (APC) received 51,291 votes, while Akpoti-Uduaghan received 54,064 votes to defeat him in the race for the presidency.
Additionally, the tribunal ruled that Sadiku-Ohere must reimburse Akpoti-Uduaghan for the petition’s expenses, which came to N500,000.
