Shooting practice: Kano police warn residents against panicking

Residents near the Customs Training College, Goron Dutse were advised by the Kano State Police Command on Sunday night not to become alarmed by the sound of incoming gunfire.

The training institution is holding a seven-day shooting range practise, according to the Command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa.
“CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel is notifying the general public that the staff of the Nigeria Customs Training College, Goron Dutse Kano, will conduct seven days of shooting range practise at Hawan Kalibawa, Dawakin Tofa LGA, Kano State from Monday, September 11th, 2023 to Sunday, September 17th, 2023 from 0600hrs (6am) to 1800hrs (6pm) daily.”

To this purpose, the CP encouraged the general public, in particular those dwelling in the villages of Dambazau, Gangaren Dutse, Tumfafi, Kakurum, and Dandalama in the Dawakin Tofa/Ungogo LGAs and its surroundings, to refrain from panicking and to leave the region as soon as they hear gunfire until the exercise was finished.
