Tuesday, following an increase in school fees and other services provided by the institution, University of Jos, Plateau State, students blocked roads leading to the university in protest.
The student demonstrators demanded an immediate reversal of the increase in tuition and other fees for the University’s services after being organised by the institution’s students union government officials.
Armed with signs that read things like “We don’t want to drop out of school,” “If your children can afford the money, we can’t,” and other sayings.
According to the students, Nigerians already face a great deal of hardship, thus the authorities should refrain from making the very difficult situation worse by raising tuition.
