The forthcoming Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Ivory Coast in 2024 would not use Nigerian referees.
There were no Nigerian referees on the list of 32 center referees, 33 assistant referees, and 2 VAR officials provided by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for the competition.
No Nigerian referee has been chosen for an AFCON competition for the past 13 years.
