The Delta State Task Committee on narcotics Trafficking conducted a narcotics raid on known drug dens in the state’s Sapele Local Government Area, arresting seven suspected drug cartel members.
Pastor Omasan Mabiaku, Senior Special Advisor to the Governor on Security Issues, oversaw the raids, which were a component of a significant crackdown on drug trafficking in the state.
The task force reportedly stormed the locations on Sunday as a result of reliable intelligence. The drugs, which included Tramadol, Codeine, and Cannabis and were worth millions of Naira, were found in the possession of four males and three women.
In order to continue the investigation, the NDLEA was given the suspects and the exhibits.
Pastor Mabiaku told reporters about the arrest and reaffirmed that the state’s government had assigned him the task of getting rid of drug dealers and people traffickers.
He thanked Sheriff Oborevwori, the governor, for establishing the committee to fight the drug misuse and human trafficking problem that is wreaking havoc on the state’s young people. He also reassured the populace that the committee would continue to raid alleged drug abuse-related premises in other local administrations.
He said, “We’ll make sure all those who are detained are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
Hon. Eugene Inoaghan, Chairman of the Sapele Local Government Area, praised the task force in his remarks on the arrest.
Many of our young people use heavy drugs, which is limiting their potential, according to the head of the council.
“Please talk to your kids, parents, I beg you. Nobody who brings drugs into the area or sells them will be tolerated.
