After being reported missing on September 11, Blessing Karami, an undergraduate student at the National Open University of Nigeria, Abuja, was found dead in the woods near Karimo.

The police stated that their main goal is to investigate Miss Karami’s death thoroughly and impartially.

The deceased was reported missing after leaving her Abuja workplace in Garki before closing time on September 11, 2023, according to ProbitasNews.

Our correspondent can confirm that the Divisional Police Headquarters, Durumi, Abuja, arrested Aminu, the deceased’s boyfriend, after questioning him about her abduction.

Genesis Karami, the deceased’s eldest brother, told police he received a weird call on Tuesday with facts regarding his sister’s corpse, but it was fake.

On Wednesday, Mr. Karami notified the Durumi Divisional Police Headquarters that the caller spotted a female body in Idu and told them what my sister wore to work the day she went missing.

Mr. Karami told journalists that since he couldn’t reach the Durumi DPO, he had to go to Karmo’s police station. There, he played with a group of cops by shifting locations until they got tired and left.

But he later confirmed that his sister died and her body was located.

We found her decaying body in the bush at Karmo and can’t move it; we need environmentalists to assist us pack. We cannot transport it. We must bury it here. Due to decomposition, she died for days, Mr. Karami said.

SP Josephine Adeh, Federal Capital Territory Police Command Public Relations Officer, said on Thursday that the police were determined to find Miss Karami’s immediate and remote causes.

Adeh added, “Blessing Karami, a 26-year-old woman missing since September 11, 2023, was tragically found in a wooded area in Karimo. It was reported to authorities on September 14, 2023.

“Under the direction of the Commissioner of Police, FCT, Haruna Garba, our top priority is to investigate Blessing Karami Moses’ untimely death thoroughly and impartially. We will never give up on this investigation and find the immediate and remote causes of this tragedy.

Since the decomposed remains are sensitive, we are working with the Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB) to respectfully retrieve them. We will keep the public updated as our investigation continues. We are thinking of Blessing Karami Moses’ family and loved ones during this trying time.”
