In the previous three months, at least 120 cultists have been arrested, of whom 100 have been placed on remand throughout the state, according to Sola Subair, the Special Advisor on Security to Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State.

Assistant Inspector-General of Police Subair, who is retired, stated that the state administration would not tolerate troublemakers and that there was an all-out fight against cultism.

Oba Babatunde Ajayi, the Akarigbo and supreme ruler of Remoland, had a security meeting on Friday during which he addressed. Divisional police officers in Sagamu, a few traditional chiefs and rulers, Senior Special Assistant on Security Biyi Odubote, former commissioner of police Awolowo Ajogun, and other members of the state security team were also present.
The primary purpose of the meeting, according to Subair, was to inform the monarch about the security situation in Remoland, particularly Sagamu, which has recently been used as a killing ground by opposing cult groups.

The governor has not wavered in his determination to deal decisively and through the legal system with anyone attempting to disturb the quiet in any part of the state, he said. Around 120 cultists have been arrested in the previous three months, and 100 of them are awaiting court-ordered remand. Remoland now enjoys significantly better property and life security.

The governor’s efforts to make sure everyone was secure throughout the state were applauded by the Akarigbo.
