“Only N1.1billion was budgeted for the Ministry of Power, Science and Technology capital expenditure, which is below the N2.9 billion budgeted for office furniture purchase and maintenance.

The capital expenditure budget for the ministry of women affairs and child development was N1.446 billion, ministry of local government and chieftaincy affairs capital budget stood at N1.6 billion, the ministry of humanitarian and disaster management budget stood at N2.7 billion, all of whom are lower than the N2.9 billion budgeted for the purchase and maintenance of office furniture and fittings.

The budgeted expenditure also comes in the face of needed development and economic challenges facing the country, including calls for cut in the cost of governance.
