The leadership of Summit Oil International Limited has praised Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun for defying the seductive offer of purported financial gain made by Platform Capital’s founder, Akindele Akintoye.

They also praised his insistence on upholding the law regardless of the parties involved.

Recall that Akintoye was charged with bribery for allegedly paying the FIB (Force Intelligence Bureau) of the Nigerian Police Force N50 million in exchange for a promise to pay another N100 million when he was allowed to leave the country.

The IGP is working around the clock to instill discipline and design a reward system for officers who have the courage to reject bribes offered by any party in cases brought under their jurisdiction, according to a source who pleaded anonymity and spoke to Vanguard.

As a result of the team leader’s exceptional discipline in the face of such a tempting cash offer, the management of Summit Oil has also recommended promotion to the Police Service Commission, we learned.
