Sen Abdullahi Adamu, the APC national chairman, has hinted that the matter will be revisited following a series of protests by other aspirants.

“The President-elect has promised that our governors, the NWC, and all the aspirants will meet this weekend to resolve the issues around zoning,” a party source said yesterday. “But his boys are busy cutting corners to undermine the integrity of the institution,” the source added.

Meanwhile, it was learned that one of the candidates for the speakership, Hon Aliyu Betara, met with President-elect Bola Tinubu in Paris, France, and insisted on running for the position.
“The saving grace is that our speaker-in-waiting, Betara, who was invited to meet the president-elect in Paris, was bold enough to tell them that he would rather fail on the House floor on inauguration day than withdraw for Abbas.”

“The funny thing is that they are deceiving themselves if they believe the G6 can be broken.”

“Unless the president-elect personally interacts with them, the guys are determined to pursue a common goal to the end,” the source said.
