Meetings of the All Progressives Congress’s (APC) National Caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) are scheduled to take place the following month.
Festus Fuanter, the acting national secretary for the APC, confirmed the new development on the Twitter handle for the party on Friday evening. He stated that the meetings would take place in Abuja on August 2 and 3, respectively.
Following the departure of its former national chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, and its national secretary, Iyiola Omisore, the party in power decided to postpone the meetings that were originally scheduled to take place on July 17 and 18.
The statement read as follows: “The national caucus meeting is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, August 2, 2023, at precisely 6:00 o’clock in the evening.” The Presidential Villa in Abuja will play host, specifically the Banquet Hall there. In accordance with the provisions of article 12.5 of the APC Constitution, this invitation should serve as notice to all members of the National Caucus regarding the upcoming meeting.
The NEC meeting, on the other hand, is scheduled to take place on Thursday, August 3, at 11.00 am prompt inside the Congress Hall of the Transcorp Hilton in Abuja. By virtue of this invitation, all members of the National Executive Committee are hereby notified of the meeting in accordance with the requirements of article 12.3 of the APC Constitution.
