Gunmen suspected of being bandits assaulted Takanai Gora hamlet in Kaduna State’s Zangon Kataf Local Government Area, killing six civilians and injured six others.
In a statement, Yabo Chris Ephraim, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to the Chairman of Zangon Kataf, said the six slain were buried Wednesday morning in the presence of the local government chairman, Francis Sani.
According to him, the chairman, who denounced the incident, also asked the community to remain calm and advised all residents to avoid the unnecessary road of violence.
Sarah Adamu, Rejoice Adamu, Enoch Adamu, Juan Aminu, Salomi Aminu, and Meshak Aminu were among those slain, according to Ephraim, while Kubai Adamu, Judith Adamu, Abigail Adamu, Dennis Joseph, Grace Bitrus, and Adamu Ibrahim were among those injured.
In an attack on Kwankwami village, Gadar Gayan, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, one other person was killed and three others were injured, while the attackers also kidnapped another resident just known as Mukailu.
