The late musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, also known as Mohbad, is being investigated, and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has summoned the Department of Security Services to participate.
This was said in a statement released on Tuesday and signed by Gbenga Omotoso, the Lagos state commissioner for information and strategy.
Mohbad, a former signee with Marlian Records under Naira Marley, passed away last Tuesday at the age of 27.
Additionally, the state government expressed its condolences to the former Marlian Records signee’s family and supporters.
“We are devastated by the loss of such a gifted and promising young guy who established himself in a field that is fiercely competitive. The statement ends with the prayer that the Almighty “grant his soul rest and comfort his bereaved family and fans.”
In addition to the police special investigation team in Lagos, “Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu has invited the DSS to join the investigation and widen the dragnet with inter-agency cooperation and use of best-in-class technology to unearth the truth.”
Mr. Sanwo-Olu has ordered that, following a thorough inquiry, everyone who may have had any involvement at all in the circumstances that resulted in MohBad’s death be brought before the law.
“DSS has thus also joined the investigation to get justice for the youngster, his family, and teeming fans,” the statement continued.
The state administration pleaded with anyone who might be able to provide crucial information that could help the investigation team.
It said, “Government also calls to the investigating team to guarantee the confidentiality and protection of all witnesses who may come forward with critical information or indicative evidence that may assist the process.
A candlelight parade and memorial night for the late musician were both announced by Mohbad’s management on Monday night.
Since Mohbad’s passing, his supporters and admirers have demanded that the circumstances surrounding his death be thoroughly investigated.
Using the deceased singer’s social media accounts, the management posted that they “appreciate the outpouring of love from Fans across the world to the ones who’ve organised events in their communities as a way to honour and pay respect to our shining light we say thank you.” Come to the memorial performance and candlelight procession for Mohbad.
