The first day of President Muhammadu Buhari’s eight-day official visit has begun in Madinah, Saudi Arabia.
Buhari was welcomed upon arrival by Deputy Governor Sa’ud Khalid Al-Faisal, according to a statement from his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu.
This evening, the President paid a visit to and offered prayers in the Prophet’s Holy Mosque. He also gave greetings to the Prophet and his two companions.
A number of officials greeted the President at the entrance to the Prophet’s Holy Mosque.
Buhari left Abuja on Tuesday, leading some of his aides on an eight-day official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
