Delta pastor butchers girl

The early hours of Friday morning saw the alleged capture of a middle-aged man, identified as a pastor but with his identity concealed, as he was butchering a little girl in Agbarha-Otor community, Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State.

According to information obtained by City Round, the victim’s remains were found at the pastor’s home in the rural village.

A source informed us that the pastor used a machete to end the young girl’s life.

It was learned that the cleric, whose church is situated in Agbarha-Otor, carried out the deed after demolishing the local shrine honoring his father.

 

At the time this report was filed, the reasons behind his alleged killing of the girl were still hazy.

But after the tragedy, it was rumored that enraged young people in the neighborhood assaulted the pastor’s house to get revenge for the little girl’s murder.

Witnesses claimed that if it weren’t for the prompt intervention of security personnel from Agbarha-Otor B Division, who were called in by alarmed locals, the furious youngsters would have been about to lynch the preacher in revenge.

Human rights advocate Israel Joe acted quickly to demand that Delta State Commissioner of Police Wale Abass look into the event and bring charges against the person involved.

As of the time this report was filed, Bright Edafe, the public relations officer for Delta State Command Police, could not be reached for comment on the event.

When questioned about the event, a senior security source from the state Police Command said, “The suspect was arrested this morning alongside the beheaded young woman.”
