The All Progressives Congress (APC) continued its suspension spree in Edo State, as the party suspended former attorney general and commissioner for Justice, Henry Idahagbon, for alleged anti-party activities.
The party leadership stated that the decision to suspend him was made following the submission of a report by the disciplinary committee established to investigate the former commissioner’s activities in accordance with Article 21 (B) of the APC constitution as amended (March 2022).

The suspension letter, signed by the chairman of the party in Egor, Chief Emmanuel Iyase, Vice Chairman Osaro Osa Eribo, Secretary Hon Joshua Uwagboe, and 17 others, was addressed to the State chairman of the party, Col David Imuse (rtd), Engr Lawrence Okah, and copied former Governor Adams Oshiomhole.
When contacted about his suspension, the APC chieftain said there was nothing to it, adding, “It is just an April Fool joke coming at the end of April.”
“That Barr. Henty Idahagbon was invited several times by the Local Government disciplinary Committee but blatantly refused to honor the invitation, thus flouting rules, regulations, and decisions of the party (see article 21: vii of APC Constitution).” This, of course, is a violation of APC Constitution Article 21. xi.

“We have unmistakable evidence that Barr Henry Idahagbon did not vote in the recent elections.” At an enlarged meeting of APC Egor, LGA, his ward chairman, Mr Nosa Oviarobo, reiterated this fact. Instead, he was seen socializing with PDP leaders and attending a political meeting at the GRA residence of the Esama of Benin.
