The Katsina State Government has reviewed the curfew recently imposed throughout the state.

PUNCH Online had earlier reported that the curfew restricted movement from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am, which has now been relaxed to 10:00 pm to 5:00 am across the state.

The Secretary to the Government of Katsina State, Abdullahi Garba Faskari, announced that the Acting Governor, Mallam Faruk Lawal, was satisfied with the reports on the improvement of the security situation throughout the state and therefore ordered the review of the curfew with immediate effect.

It was learned that Mallam Lawal appreciated the general conduct of the security personnel and the people’s cooperation while the government was trying to control the situation.

A statement by the Director of Press, Office of the Secretary to the Government of Katsina State, Abdullahi Yar’adua, which was made available to PUNCH Online on Saturday, noted that the acting governor advised people to remain law-abiding as they continue with their daily routines.

“Mallam Lawal appreciated the general conduct of the security personnel and the people’s cooperation while the government was trying to control the situation.”
