Joe Biden, the Vice President of the United States of America, has announced the members of his delegation that will be attending the inauguration of Bola Tinubu, the President-elect of Nigeria.
A total of sixty-five world leaders, including current and former heads of state, have been invited to attend the inauguration of Tinubu.
On May 29, at Eagle Square in Abuja, the formerly serving governor of Lagos State will take his oath of office as the 16th President of Nigeria.
In addition to previous presidents, prominent Nigerians, diplomats, and leaders of international organisations, as well as representatives of foreign governments and agencies, are scheduled to attend the seventh transition ceremony for the nation.
On Thursday, the inauguration programmes will get underway with the investiture of Tinubu as the Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic and Kashim Shettima as the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger. Both of these honours will be bestowed upon them by the newly elected Vice President.
At the high-profile event, it is anticipated that representatives from a variety of Nigeria’s traditional allies, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, China, Germany, Finland, Jamaica, Japan, Israel, and Turkey, as well as several others, will be in attendance.
In a statement that was published on the White House website on Monday night, Vice President Joe Biden announced a nine-member delegation that will be attending the inauguration on Tuesday.
Marcia L. Fudge, who is currently serving as the Secretary of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, will serve as the delegation’s leader.

The former President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta, is scheduled to give a lecture on the topic of ‘Deepening Democracy for Integration and Development’ on May 27 as part of the inauguration festivities.
The Valedictory Federal Executive Council Meeting will take place in the Council Chambers inside the Presidential Villa on May 24. Other activities include a Public Lecture and Juma’at prayer at the National Mosque on May 26; a Children’s Day Parade and Party on May 27; and an Inter-denominational Church Service at the National Christian Centre on May 28. The Valedictory Federal Executive Council Meeting will take place on May 24.
In addition, the Inauguration Dinner and Gala Night will take place on May 28 at the State House Conference Centre. The inauguration and swearing-in of the president-elect and the vice president-elect will take place on May 29, and will be followed by an inauguration parade at Eagle Square.
In addition, there will be a post-inauguration luncheon held specifically for the President, along with his fellow Presidents, Heads of Government, and guests, which will take place in the State House Banquet Hall immediately following the inauguration ceremony.
