At the Primary Health Center in Delta State’s Agbarha-Otor Ughelli North Local Government Area, a student from the College of Health Technology has allegedly been sexually assaulted by a gunman.

According to reports, the shooter also stole the victim’s android phone, ATM card, and an undisclosed sum of money.

The incident happened around 1:30 am on July 24.

The shooter is accused of breaking into the primary health center, threatening the student with a knife and a gun, and then shoving her.

In a conversation with Our Correspondent, the victim confirmed the incident.

She claimed that while she was asleep, the incident took place.Since I don’t get much sleep, I had the impression that someone was nearby. I opened my eyes right away to see a strange person standing by the bed I was lying in, brandishing a knife and what appeared to be a gun at me. I was frightened and terrified as he motioned for me to remain silent with his hand.

He told me to get up and led me from the parlor, where we were sleeping, to the delivery room, where the female staff was sleeping.

“When we arrived, he pointed out the woman who was lying against the wall and asked me to turn around. I did so because he was behind me and holding a knife and a gun to my head.

He then inquired about the availability of cash at the health center, to which I replied, “I don’t know. He also inquired about the types of phones each of us was using, to which I replied, “My Android is already with him, but the others have button phones.

Then he led me to the matron’s office, where he took me to a room, dropped a foam, and ordered me to lie down or else he would shoot and stab me to death. Terrified, I complied with his orders. He then told me to take off my clothes, and this is when (She paused) he raped me.

“He asked for my phone password and ATM password, which I gave him after he raped me. He then unlocked the phone, began filming me in my underwear, and threatened to go viral with the footage if I told anyone.

Because everything happened so quickly and no one was there to save me, it felt to me like a dream. He then led me back to my room, which was unexpected because I didn’t hear him open the door or any door banging. After a minute or so, I went to wake up my coworkers and told them what had happened. They were the only employees present.

She claimed that the staff immediately made a call to the matron, who resides in Warri, and that the matron then made a call to the chairman of the street in Agbarha-Otor where the health center is located.

When we arrived at the King’s palace, the Chairman of the Street instructed us to go to the station to report the case because, according to him, there were vigilantes there. However, when we arrived there, we were unable to locate any vigilantes. We encountered the vigilantes on the way, and after questioning us, they followed us to the station.

The victim is currently requesting that the police look into the incident and bring her to justice.

“I am requesting assistance from the Delta State Government, the Nigeria Police, and all other pertinent agencies. I’ve been traumatized. My usual self has not been present since July 24. My inability to envision it as the scenario keeps replaying in my head has made it difficult for me.

A WhatsApp message asking him to confirm the report was sent to DSP Bright Edafe, the public relations officer for the Delta State Police.
