In the early hours of Monday, armed men shot and killed Wilson, a member of the vigilante group at the First Marine Gate quarters in the Delta State local government of Warri South.
The community vigilante team was engaged in a gunfight by the assailants, and some of the team’s members fled as a result of the attackers’ greater weaponry.
As a result, Wilson, one of the vigilantes, was killed by the invaders’ guns.
Although there are little specifics about what happened, as of the time this report was being written, the deceased’s corpse, which was covered with a white cloth, was still there by the roadside at the scene of the incident for a number of hours in the morning.
At the time this report was filed, DSP Bright Edafe, the public relations officer for the state command, was unavailable to comment on the incident because neither he nor his mobile phone responded to messages or calls placed to him.
