Ibukun Solomon, a 12-year-old kid, has told the story of how, following a small quarrel in Ondo town, Ondo State, his mother Tayelolu killed his father Felix with a pestle while he was sleeping.

According to information obtained by ProbitasNews, the mother of three killed her farmer husband, 65, while he slept in their home in Ondo town’s Government Reservation Area (GRA), by striking him three times with a pestle.

According to reports, the wife has been threatening to kill her husband and run away, and the marriage has been going through a crisis recently.

It was learned that the dead fell asleep on the chair following a further argument last weekend, during which the wife allegedly struck him multiple times with a pestle.

Son, how did she do it?
Ibukan told reporters about his father’s death, saying, “My mother killed my father with a pestle in my presence and took to her heels.” When he was asleep, she struck his skull with the pestle.

A slight quarrel between them had escalated in a brawl earlier that fateful day. Following the altercation, my mother struck my father in the head with the pestle while he lay on the chair.

“He lost consciousness and collapsed from his resting position. My mother struck my father three times on the head with the pestle. Later thereafter, he passed away.

“My mother fled and hid the pestle at the back of our house when she realized my father was already asleep.

My father was hurried to the hospital by some of the residents after I informed them. Still, he passed away. He has been laid to rest at the mortuary.

“I am the last of my mother’s three children that she bears for my father.”

Speaking about the unpleasant event, the deceased man’s brother claimed that family members had tried multiple times to reconcile the constant arguments between his brother and his wife.

He regretted that their efforts had all been in vain.

He claimed, “Whenever they got into a quarrel, the wife had been threatening to kill her husband. And we were told of the threats by the deceased. However, we were unaware that she would perform the horrible deed.

This time, though, she disregarded the law and killed our brother needlessly. Her arrest and appropriate charges must be taken against her.

Contact attempts with Funmi Odunlami, the state police spokesperson, were unsuccessful.

However, a senior law enforcement official informed Vanguard that the evading individual would shortly be taken into custody and faced with a murder accusation.
