IPOB: NAF bombed areas in Anambra, Imo, not our camps

The Eastern Security Network at Orsumohu and Nnewi South LGA in Anambra State, as well as Osuihiteukwa in Orsu LGA, Imo State, and the camps of the Indigenous People of Biafra, have been denied by the Nigerian Air Force as having been bombed.

The pro-Biafran organisation insisted that the military had misled them, citing the fact that the places were inhabited by innocent civilians, and that ESN did not have camps in any of the attacked locations.

They recently denounced all military assaults in the Southeast and stated that there is no military bombardment of the North, which is home to terrorists and robbers.

The group’s spokesperson, Emma Powerful, offered their responses in a news release on Thursday.

“The claims by the Nigerian Air Force of bombing IPOB’s ESN camps at Orsumohu and Nnewi South LGA of Anambra State and Osuihiteukwa in Orsu LGA, Imo State are refuted by the global family of IPOB led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu,” the statement said.

“We boldly state that none of the blasted places contain any ESN camps.

“Yet, even though we abhor the criminals who pose as IPOB and ESN and engage in violent acts in the name of the Biafra struggle, we condemn the Nigeria Air Force’s bombing of any area of Biafra Land. “Why hasn’t the Nigerian Air Force bombed terrorists and bandits who are out in the open in the northern desert regions if they have operational fighter planes to destroy criminal hideouts in the Southeast rainforest?

“Boko Haram, ISWAP terrorists, and bandits control some communities in the northern region.” They are robbing farmers and schoolchildren as they walk around freely, and the Nigerian federal government and state governors are negotiating with them. However, the Nigeria Air Force brags of bombing criminal hideouts in the Southeast due to ethnic prejudice and disdain for the Federal Government. We vehemently denounce the bombing and devastation of our homeland.

“Terrorists and bandits in the North are negotiated with and paid a ransom by the Federal Government; these individuals then utilise the money to purchase further assault rifles and other cutting-edge weaponry to carry out their terrorist actions.

“ESN agents remain intact and are holding out for the final signal for the liberation of Biafra.” Our goal is not to massacre our people in Biafraland, but rather to restore Biafra. Biafrans are well aware that neither IPOB members nor ESN agents are involved in the kidnapping and seizure of cars.

The organisation added that IPOB does not run camps anywhere and requested that the Nigeria Air Force cease lying and using IPOB’s alleged ESN camp bombing as a form of blackmail.

To avoid confusion, Biafra does not have an army, and neither in Biafra territory nor in the diaspora is there anything by the name of the Biafran Liberation Army. What we have is the Eastern Security Network and vigilante groups. The mission of ESN is to hunt down terrorists who pose as herders and rape our mothers, sisters, and wives while destroying our farmlands in the East by hiding in our bushes and woodlands.

The criminals who pose as members of the Biafra Liberation Army while donning military camouflage are actually sponsored agents of the Nigerian government, not ESN agents at all. We are neither terrorists nor criminals; if we were, civilised nations would not allow us to assemble there freely.

“The Nigerian Air Force should address the criminal camps it bombed by name, without bringing up IPOB or ESN.” In the meantime, the Air Force is promoting the same ethnic cleansing goal against Biafrans and the Biafran nation by attacking any camp in Biafra Land while negotiating with and supporting terrorists in the North.

The message went on, “Until the Independent State of Biafra is restored, we will neither retreat nor surrender.”
