Mr. Kemdi Opara, the Young Progressives Party’s (YPP) candidate for governor of Imo State in the off-cycle election scheduled for November 11th, has voiced his displeasure with the state’s leadership.
Opara made the claim on Sunday during an interactive discussion about Imo State’s future with media in Owerri, the state capital.
Speaking about his political campaign for the upcoming governorship and his plans to change the State, Opara stated that he entered the race to bring about a generational shift rather than to benefit himself.
Although he blamed the State’s instability on the existing administration’s poor leadership, he claimed that the YPP represents a fresh take on governing.
He underlined that the YPP is dedicated to advancing responsible government and tackling Imo State’s problems.
He went on to say that replacing the existing administration with a party that represents a new generation of leaders dedicated to serving the people and advancing development is the practical approach to put an end to insecurity in the State.
“Like Peter Obi of Imo State, I’ll promote Imo outside of Nigeria.
He declared, “It is not about money, but to make a great change in Imo State. I am here not to enrich myself, but to bring a generational transformation; my government will be constituted by young minds.”
