Sulaiman Abdullahi, a 27-year-old Nigerien, has been sentenced to death by hanging by a Kano High Court for the 2017 murder of 30-year-old Yahya Badamasi.
Judge Nasiru Saminu presided over the court, which found Suleiman guilty of culpable homicide, in violation of Kano State 1991’s Penal Code Laws Section 221 (b). Suleiman was then given a hanging death sentence.

According to reports, the dead, a resident of Kofar Nassarawa Quarters in Kano, and the prisoner, who is from Matamaye village in the Niger Republic, had a disagreement.
On April 9, 2017, there was a violent altercation over N700. The altercation ended when the prisoner took out a pair of scissors and stabbed the victim in the neck.
Yahaya Badamasi was taken to Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital hurt; however, she passed away during her stay there. Abdullahi was then taken into custody by Kwalli Division police officers, who also filed charges against him.
