The Supreme Court fire incident on Monday was deemed suspicious by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

According to ProbitasNews, on Monday morning at around seven in the morning, a portion of the supreme court caught fire.

The terrible incident’s cause is yet unknown, but the Federal Capital Territory Police Command has started an investigation.

In response, the PDP cited the court-pending appeal of election matters and claimed the development was suspicious in a statement released by Hon. Debo Ologunagba, National Publicity Secretary.

The PDP is concerned about the fire outbreak, particularly in light of the increased public fear of a potential arsonist attack. The statement goes on to say that the PDP intends to hinder and impede the Supreme Court’s ability to carry out its constitutional duties, particularly in relation to high-profile electoral cases like the Presidential Election Appeals that are currently before it.

“Our party is calling for an expedient, thorough inquiry into the fire outbreak in order to determine the cause of the disaster and rule out any potential sabotage.

“In contrast to past fire occurrences in various government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, which were typically swept under the rug by the All Progressives Congress (APC) @OfficialAPCNg administrations, the PDP urges that the investigation’s findings be made public.

“The PDP demands that Nigerians be guaranteed the safety of sensitive documents and equipment at the court, especially at this crucial time,” in addition to calling on the Federal Government to bolster security surrounding the Supreme Court.

Recall that Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the PDP, and Peter Obi, the nominee for the Labour Party in the most recent election, both filed a case on February 25 challenging President Bola Tinubu’s election, and they recently challenged the tribunal’s decision.
