Mr. Alagoa Morris, the Bayelsa Coordinator of the Peter Obi Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), has left the Labour Party (LP) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Prior to the Bayelsa Governorship Election scheduled for November 11, Morris, an environmental rights activist, made the declaration on Thursday in Yenagoa.
He pointed out that Governor Duoye Diri has accomplished numerous excellent deeds, some of which are not known to the general public, which was why he wholeheartedly supported his bid for reelection.
“I chose to support the incumbent governor because he is the best among the main contenders,” he declared.
“Based on the candidates who are on the ballot for the Nov. 11 election, Diri is the only one who deserves support.
“I was not a member of the Labour Party until they gave me the position of state coordinator, but since that position has been filled, life goes on.
“I spent yesterday with Gov. Douye Diri, and after considering the candidates, I think we should support him.
“This is because whenever somebody enters right now, they will inform us that the Treasury is empty.
“Accordingly, this one that is already cooperating with development partners and other stakeholders ought to be permitted to continue.
“Diri has carried out a great deal of private activities. We must encourage him to keep trying, in my opinion, he remarked.
