Police in Jigawa apprehend Hassan Adamu, security guard for stealing school supplies

Hassan Adamu, 30, a security guard, was taken into custody by the Jigawa State police on suspicion of stealing property from Government Girl Unity Secondary School in Kazaure.

DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the command’s spokesman, confirmed the arrest in a statement provided to ProbitasNews.

The Vice Principal of Government Girls Unity Secondary School in Kazaure, One Bashir Ahmed, complained to the Kazaure Police Station that he had discovered some school property had been stolen by unidentified individuals on Sunday at around 1700 hours.

He said that following the report to the police, a surveillance team from the Kazaure Division stormed a shop at the KanGada quarters in Kazaure LGA. There, they apprehended Hassan Adamu, a security guard at the school and a resident of Bornu-Kishi village in Yobe State. They found two sacks filled with the following items.

He clarified that a printer, minicomputers, ceiling fans, and a disc receiver are among the things that were found.

According to DSP Shiisu, the suspect admitted using a master key to unlock the store and take the merchandise during questioning.

He stated that charges will be brought against them in court as part of the ongoing investigation to retrieve the remaining stolen goods.
