Zakariya Saad, 19, was detained by the Adamawa State Police Command for allegedly killing Muhammed Yahaya, 17 years old.
The command stated in a statement on Wednesday that Zakariya was apprehended on Tuesday from his home in Wuro Hausa, Yola South Local Government Area, on suspicion of murdering Yahaya.
According to a statement signed by the state police image maker, SP Suleiman Nguroje, Zakariya was apprehended after residents of Damdu Ward in the same Yola South LGA reported “a young yet-to-be-identified person was seen lying in a pool of blood with stab wound around his neck.”
According to the statement, police officers transported the injured kid to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
“The Commissioner of Police, CP Afolabi Babatola directs Deputy Commissioner of Police CID to take over investigation and ensure diligent prosecution,” said the statement.
