On Friday, President Bola Tinubu met with Yusuf Gagdi, a member of the G-7, a group of aspirants who were upset that the All Progressives Congress had endorsed Tajudeen Abbas and Benjamin Kalu for the positions of Speaker and Deputy Speaker, respectively.

According to Gagdi, this was his third meeting with Tinubu in the span of three days as part of the interventions by the President in the crisis that was caused by the 10th National Assembly leadership zoning plan of the APC. These meetings took place as a result of the President’s efforts to address the situation.

Gagdi, who is currently serving as a representative in the House for the Pankshin/Kanye/Kanam Federal Constituency in Plateau State, revealed this information through his official Twitter handle.

The representative promised that the outcome of the “extensive discussions and consultations” would be made public in the very near future.

Gagdi tweeted, “Within the past three days, I have paid President Bola Ahmed Tinubu three separate visits at the Presidential Villa for one-on-one meetings that have collectively lasted for over an hour.” The topics of conversation revolve around my aspiration to become the Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives as well as the question of who will take the helm of the 10th Assembly.

“I want to thank the good people of the Pankshin/Kanake/Kanam Federal Constituency as well as Mr. President for this honour and for demonstrating their love in such a special way to me.

I am currently engaged in in-depth discussions and consultations with some of my fellow aspirants as well as some national leaders, and I am appealing to my supporters, in particular my honourable colleagues, to maintain their composure during this time.

Following the completion of all discussions, an official statement will be issued with regard to this matter. Thank you very much, Mr. President, and also to my father.”
