On Thursday (today), President Bola Ahmed Tinubu claimed to have been a brilliant student in his earlier years when speaking to Nigerians living abroad.

The Nigerian president is reportedly currently attending the G-20 Summit in India.

However, Tinubu met with a number of Nigerian students who were studying in India on Thursday evening, and he cautioned them that they could succeed in their chosen fields if they put in the necessary effort, were sincere with themselves, had the right attitude, and were determined to succeed.

I’m glad to be standing in front of you as the President of Nigeria. Good education got me here. I started off modest. I manned a watchtower. In college, I worked as a tutor. I excelled academically. Because of my education, when I joined Deloitte, I had the opportunity to receive training from one of the largest accounting firms in the world.

‘We have a lot of clients that will take you if you want to go home,’ they replied when I asked if they had any branches in Nigeria when I first joined them. My journey to Exxon Mobil began in this way, and before joining politics with a positive outlook, I was a very successful accountant, auditor-general, and treasurer.
Do not give up; you can succeed as well. Everybody is welcome in Nigeria. It doesn’t matter where in Nigeria you’re from, according to a statement given to reporters by Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity.
