According to Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, giving Christians and Southerners control over Nigeria’s national security is risky.
The cleric claimed that Muslims appointed to high security posts serve only as symbolic leaders and are not in charge of military leadership.
The cleric called Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, “Satan” for hosting the Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria in his office during a lengthy 14-minute video sermon that he posted on his official Facebook page. Additionally, the cleric declared during the sermon that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would be removed from office for a period of eight years.
He continued by cursing the people who had worked so hard to support the Muslim-Muslim ticket, branding them as money-hungry hypocrites who pursued money for selfish and worldly gain.
Here is a translation from Hausa of a portion of the sermon:
“I said it earlier when he was appointed and some people were complaining—the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory is a Satanic person. I have not yet had a chance to watch it, but he has gone and brought the Israeli Ambassador. However, it is confirmed that he stated they would work with the Israelis to address the security concerns in Abuja. Abuja will now function as a Tel Aviv extension, and whenever they spot someone bearing a beard similar to ours, they’ll claim it’s Bin Laden and execute us.
“What happened to the people who worked on the Muslim-Muslim ticket? Worthless people and hypocrites. Security is the people’s stronghold, and Abuja is starting to resemble a larger version of Tel Aviv. Did you miss the sound of silence? They are proficient in their work. When a leader of the Miyetti Allah came to me with a proposal to negotiate with bandits, I was told to leave it alone and not get involved.
“That’s a ruse. What is the significance of the Ministry of Defence having Muslim leaders? Are we the ones with the guns and the gunslingers, the ones really in charge of Command and Control? They are the ones playing us, not us. A plan is in place. They intend to deceive us for four years in order to obtain eight years, having taken control of all financial and economic resources. Insha’Allah, they won’t.
“I wish to inform you that Northerners who conduct lawful business will never receive one billion naira. Our wealthy people can only acquire things from the people they can trust. They only have their trust because they are acting in their own best interests. In a matter of months, they will crush anyone whose loyalty they are unsure of.
“Like when you feed chickens grain, they will only show up during elections. That’s all if they feed grains to the chickens. The solution is to give people spaghetti; this spaghetti problem is serious. This country is a complete mess where we are being cheated.
“During Buhari’s administration, I spoke with a Reverend or Bishop who told me that Muslims had taken over the country.” Knowing that the Chief of Army Staff would not try to harm me, I replied, “Yes, and I’m okay.” Even if he doesn’t want to defend me, he won’t work with others to harm me. I assure you that our own personnel, whether serving in the armed forces, law enforcement, or Department of State Services (DSS), will not be used against me or against you because you are a Christian.
“I want the distinction to be clear to you. Give them weapons and power, and they will try to hurt you. I’ll provide you some examples: Sardauna wasn’t a Premier, right? His killer(s)? Nzeogwu killed him, and you gave them guns. Murtala (Muhammed) was killed by who? From the North, Dimka. What was Babangida’s outcome? With his whiskers, he managed to flee. Who was the intended killer? Orkar Gideon. They will kill you if you give them guns. It ends the moment you grant them authority.
There is a man from Tanzania named Aliyu Masruhi, who has long maintained that no society can grant authority without conditions. He said, “Do you agree?” if it becomes inevitable that we will cede power. For instance, we must make sure that security is under our control among other things. However, how can you cede control while running away?

But, if we give you Christians power and have your infidels lead security agencies, they will plot to kill me, and I have proof of this.
Three people were killed: Sardauna, Tafawa Balewa, and Murtala. Tell me about your own people that they killed. They killed our people. That’s what I posed to him. Nevertheless, they were yelling and making noise, accusing Buhari of nepotism. I am aware of it, but since we don’t commit evil, it is meaningless. But, we are warning you not to cede power because these individuals will not aid you but rather do evil.
