The youths in the region were claimed to have mobilized in response to the occurrence and captured Ihwakaa, the father of the suspected thunder victim, and another older guy who was allegedly working with him.
They were allegedly buried alive after the youths dug a small hole for them.
Before police could reach the hamlet, according to Baba Agan, a local community leader who claimed to have reported the incident to the police at the local government’s Tse Agbaragba headquarters, the two old individuals had passed away.
“The event took place on Saturday in Ikyve in the Konshisha Local Government Area. A young man, his wife, and a two-week-old newborn were struck by light rain and thunder that day, and all three of them perished.
“As a result of that, youths in the village mobilized and went to the home of the young man whose father’s name is Henry and who goes by the name Ihwakaa; they attacked him and an elderly man, dug a grave, and buried them alive,” Agan said.
However, it was later discovered that the two victims had already passed away in the grave when a police squad arrived at the site, and their remains had been unearthed.

The event was verified by SP Sewuese Anene of the state Police Public Relations Office on Monday.
Anene said that although the investigation was continuing, two people had been detained in relation to the event.
Even though he claimed that just one person was buried alive, the PPRO advised the public against jungle justice and urged anybody who felt they had been wronged to always disclose their complaints to the police so that they may take the appropriate measures.
