Two Nigerian TikTokers, Maryam Musa and Ahmad Isa, were given prison sentences for sharing offensive videos on the platform.
Because Ahmad Isa and Maryam Musa violated the state’s moral and religious sensibilities, they were taken into custody by the Kano State censorship board.
The state’s attorney, Barr. Garzali Maigari, presented them before a Kano Magistrate court on charges of criminal conspiracy and disseminating illegal content.
After entering guilty pleas to the accusations, the TikTokers were been sentenced to one year in prison each, with the possibility of a fine of N100,000.
Hadiza Muhammad Hassan, the Judge, also cautioned them to behave well.
